Arrest made in fatal shooting of two men at Lake Murray bar

joseph millsLEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO) – A Little Mountain man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that left two men dead early Sunday morning.

Joseph Elijah Mills, 25, is charged with two counts of murder for fatally shooting two men with a handgun while at a Lake Murray nightspot on the outskirts of Chapin near the Newberry County line, according to arrest warrants. ABC Columbia visited the location of the shooting at the Frayed Knot bar.

“The suspect was arrested without incident at a Chapin residence Sunday afternoon,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said.

The victims have been identified by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher as 40-year-old Charles Allen Judge Jr. and 29-year-old Jonathan Michael Prins.

“Mills is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center while he awaits a bond hearing,” Koon said. “We’re still interviewing persons of interest and reviewing evidence.”
