W.J. Keenan students to hold community dog grooming event
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Students in W.J. Keenan High School’s Animal Science II class will hold a dog grooming event for the community on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the school.
Dog owners looking for ways to keep their furry friends fresh and clean can get that done while the students get an opportunity to gain some career training experience.
People can drop-off and pick-up their dogs in the school’s teacher parking lot with an appointment needed.
District officials say the dogs will receive a bath, blow dry, nail trim and oral and ear care for $20. All proceeds from the grooming event will go towards Keenan’s agriculture department’s FFA.
“Events such as our grooming day ensure the continuance of our agriculture department as well as sharpen the minds and skills of our young people that serve our community,” says Keenan High
Agriculture Teacher Maria Ausburn.
Anyone unable to attend the event can book an appointment during the week.
