SCHP: Driver dead after hitting tree in Lexington County

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A driver is dead after vehicle goes off the side of the road and hits a tree, says highway patrol.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver of a 2004 Toyota was traveling south on Pine Plane Road when the vehicle went off the left side of the road and hit a tree.
The collision happened 1 and a half miles east of Gaston around 12:30 a.m. on early Thursday morning.
Highway Patrol says they are continuing to investigate the collision.
