Midlands man paying off parents’ home after winning lottery

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands man decided to use some of his lottery winnings to pay off his parents’ home, said officials.

After winning $300,000 playing the Palmetto Cash 5, the man told lottery officials he plays the Palmetto Cash 5 everyday and will continue to play it.

He bought the ticket at the Circle K at 5372 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington. The next day, when he used a store’s ticket checker to scan the ticket, he got the message “claim at lottery”.

“It’s the largest single win of my life for sure,” said the winner. The odds of winning $300,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,405,438.
