Chapin Police Investigating Infant Death

CHAPIN, S.C. (WOLO) – Authorities say the Chapin Police Department and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office are currently investigating a stillborn infant death that occurred Wednesday in Chapin.

The death occurred on Firebridge Drive.

An autopsy was performed Thursday morning in Newberry, and investigators are now awaiting the results of toxicology reports, officials say.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s department is also assisting with the investigation.
