RCSD investigating fatal shooting of 16-year-old

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal shooting of a 16-year-old that happening earlier this morning, said the department.
According to Richland County investigators, the teen was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound in his torso area shortly before noon on Friday, Feb. 16.
Deputies said they were in the 1800 block of Bywood Drive in relation to the report of a shooting.
Deputies began chest compressions in an effort to save the juvenile, but were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
