Three shot in Helena area of Newberry County
NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Three people in the Helena area of Newberry County were shot in an early morning Sunday shooting, said NCSO.
Newberry County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Helena area around 2:40 a.m. after receiving multiple calls about shots being fired on Brown Chapel Circle.
Deputies said when they arrived to the scene there were two people found wounded in the lower area of their bodies.
Also, deputies said they found out another victim had been taken to Newberry County Memorial Hospital Emergency Department with multiple gunshot wounds by a private vehicle.
There is no update as of yet on the condition of all three victims.
“This was a large crowd and there are people that obviously saw it occur. We are at hopes that those witnesses fled the scene due to the shots fired and the violence and will come forward. We cannot stop these senseless acts of violence and mass shootings without the help of citizens,” stated Sheriff Lee Foster.
