LITTLE MOUNTAIN, S.C. (WOLO) — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting.

Police say they responded to a domestic dispute Monday night in the 2100 block of Wash Lever Road.  Officials say they found an armed man barricaded inside his home.  Authorities say they tried to negotiate with the man.  He then shot himself twice before pointing a gun at a deputy, who then returned fire.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the hospital.

More details on the officer-involved shooting are set to be released Tuesday.
