Rain Suspends Fireflies’ Series Opener Against Augusta
COLUMBIA, SC (Fireflies) – Due to heavy rain, Friday’s game between Columbia and Augusta was suspended after one inning. The game will resume on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and will be played in its entirety (nine innings). The originally scheduled game on Saturday, August 20, will take place afterward as a seven-inning contest.
The game was scoreless after one full inning. At 7:35 p.m., the weather delay began and lasted one hour and 10 minutes before the game was suspended.
This is the second time rain has suspended a game at Spirit Communications Park. Columbia’s contest against the Rome Braves on July 18 was moved to a later date because of rain.
You can listen to the action of both games Saturday on WGCV 620 AM and 96.3 FM, ColumbiaFireflies.com and the TuneIn Radio app starting at 4:45 p.m.
