Irmo, S.C. (WOLO) — Some spent their Labor Day in an unexpected way.

Tropical storm Hermine moved through the Midlands Friday creating a mess for many Midlands’ homeowners.

In Irmo high winds caused a towering tree to collapse on a home.

Homeowner Sam Pike is optimistic about the clean up process and says he just feels lucky to be alive.
