Report of Suspicious Package Closed Downtown Streets

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Several streets were closed in downtown Columbia after police say there was a report of a suspicious package Wednesday morning.

The scene is now clear.

There was a heavy law enforcement presence in the area and motorists and pedestrians were wasked to avoid the area.

Traffic was closed on Assembly north/south bound, Blanding to Hampton and Taylor Street west bound from Assembly to Park.
