Elgin Police investigate shooting, One person injured

A woman is recovering after being injured in a shooting on Saturday night, according to Elgin Police. 

 

ELGIN, S.C. (WOLO) – A woman is recovering after being injured in a shooting on Saturday night, according to Elgin Police.

Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office is assisting Elgin Police with the investigation. According to the sheriff’s office, police responded to the shooting at around 6 p.m. on the 1000 block of Kelly Street, which is off Smyrna Road.

Investigators determined there was a dispute between two parties that resulted in one woman being shot.

According to the latest update from investigators, the victim is in surgery at a local hospital and her condition is unknown.

Three suspects have been taken into custody for questioning.
