Firefighters control fire, black smoke at home

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– No one is hurt following a house fire on Monday night.

Firefighters say they responded to a home on Oak Grove Court after 11 p.m. where they saw fire and thick black smoke coming from the property.

Officials say working smoke alarms helped the family escape with no injuries.

The Red Cross is assisting the family. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
