A high-speed chase has led to the arrest of LaQuincy Pollard who is accused of killing the mother of his children.

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A high-speed chase has led to the arrest of a man accused of killing the mother of his children, said Kershaw County deputies.

The KCSO said they received a 911 call about a shooting incident on Boyd Road in Camden in relation to woman being shot by the father of her children around 11:46 p.m.

Deputies said the man left the scene before they arrived but the description of his vehicle was given to them.

Around 11:50 p.m. a deputy was able to find the vehicle on Dicey Creek Road heading toward Highway 1.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and led the deputy and a Camden Police officer on a chase.

He eventually stopped his vehicle at a gas station, surrendered to law enforcement and was taken into custody around 12 in the morning on Friday, said deputies.

The victim was rush to a hospital where she later died, said KSCO.

“Two young children had their lives changed forever tonight due to a horrible decision by someone they looked to as a protector, their father. These precious, innocent children lost both of their parents tonight for no good reason. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers,” stated Sheriff Lee Boan.
LaQuincy Pollard, 51, from Cassatt will be charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, failure to stop for blue lights, and other offenses.
Pollard is currently being held at the Kershaw County Detention Center for the Thursday late night shooting incident.
