UPDATE: Man shot at local car dealership dies hours after shooting

Officers investigating shooting after finding man with life-threatening injuries, suspect arrested after police chase.

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — The Columbia Police Department is charging a man with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime after authorities say he opened fire in a local car dealership Monday afternoon. Investigators say at around 3 pm they responded to the J.T. Kia car dealership along Greystone Boulevard where they found a man with life-threatening injuries.
The Richland County Coroner’s office has identified the victim 39 year old Graham Pope.
Police say the suspect, now identified as 29 year old Westley Gross who police say drove away after the shooting leading officers on a chase through downtown Columbia. Investigators arrested Gross a short time later after he crashed into a wooded area along Shady Lane. Officials say Gross is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
Police have not released a possible motive in the deadly shooting.
