Midlands man amazed by $500,000 lottery win

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands man is now a scratch-off winner after he says he was in the right place at the right time.

The lucky man won $500,000 after buying a scratch-off from Shiv Food Mart on Farrow Road in Columbia.

Lottery officials say the lucky ticket was a 100X The Cash scratch-off that he bought for $10 at the store.

The winner told lottery officials he was so thankful when he scratched the ticket and realized he won a half-a-million dollar prize.

“It was amazing, my lifestyle has stepped up,” he told lottery officials after cashing in the winning ticket.

The win leaves two top prizes of $500,000 in 100X The Cash game at odds of 1 in 960,000, say officials.
