City of Forest Acres honors fallen officers

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The City of Forest Acres dedicated a memorial to remember their fallen police officers on Monday.

The dedication took place at Gills Creek Memorial Park where they honored fallen officers Greg Alia and Richey Finch.

Both officers were killed in the line of duty.

Current and former Forest Acres officers and state lawmakers like U.S. Representative Joe Wilson came to stand alongside the Alia and Finch families.

City officials say they spent a decade working on a proper fallen police officer memorial.
