IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– Irmo Police say multiple juveniles have been detained after attempting car break-ins.
Officers say they responded to a call in the 1400 Block of Lake Murray Boulevard in relation to several males pulling on door handles and attempting to break into cars.
The Irmo Police Department says with the help of the Columbia Police Department and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department all five of the juveniles were detained after they ran away from the scene.
Officers discovered that the juveniles drove to Irmo in a recently stolen vehicle and two of them were listed as runaways from another area.
They were all released to legal guardians and will be petitioned to family court for criminal conspiracy, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools and tampering with motor vehicles, say officers.
