Hurricane Matthew: Closings/Delays Updated
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Governor Nikki Haley declared a state of emergency in South Carolina Tuesday afternoon.
The National Hurricane Center shows Matthew as a Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 145 mph. Matthew is 65 miles ESE of Guantanamo, Cuba, moving N at 10 mph.
Governor Haley met with emergency management officials Tuesday at the South Carolina Emergency Management Division.
3700 law enforcement members will be on roads tomorrow assisting with evacuation process, not including the National Guard, Haley said.
The hurricane made landfall in Haiti earlier this morning, hitting the western shores of the country with 145 mph winds. Firsthand reports, as well as videos on social media, show that the storm is already creating significant damage.

All Lexington County government offices, this includes administrative offices and County recycling centers, be closed Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, through Friday, Oct. 7, 2016.
Harvin Clarendon County Library in Manning will be CLOSED beginning Wednesday October 5th in advance of Hurricane Matthew.
The Social Security Administration Columbia will be closed Wednesday through Friday.
