Pathways to Healing presents Walk a Mile in our Shoes to raise awareness for surviors
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Nonprofit organization ‘Pathways to Healing’ hosted the annual Walk A Mile In Our Shoes at the Statehouse on Saturday.
Organizers say this event is about raising awareness and money but its also a way for the community to walk a mile in a survivors’ shoes to honor them and let them know they are here to help them on their pathway to healing.
Pathways to Healing is a rape crisis center that provides free services to survivors and their loved ones.
Organizers say it’s important for victims and survivors to know you can heal after a traumatic and terrible event.
They have raised more than 54 thousand dollars so far.
They have a goal of 90 thousand dollars to continue to provide free services.
