Cayce Police say Cayce Elementary School Bookkeeper Carolyn Ann Glen, is accused of grabbing a 9-year-old student with documented developmental needs as the student attempted to run from her.

CAYCE, S.C. (WOLO)– A Lexington District Two employee is accused of shoving a 9-year-old student into a wall at an elementary school, says police.

Cayce Police say Cayce Elementary School Bookkeeper Carolyn Ann Glen, is accused of grabbing a 9-year-old student with documented developmental needs as the student attempted to run from her.

According to an arrest warrant, Glen grabbed the child,  shoved him into a wall and forcefully down to the floor.

While the child was on the floor, she grabbed the child’s shirt and collar and lifted him up and shoved him into the wall again.

Investigators say once the child was released he stayed in the fetal position on the floor crying and was momentarily non-verbal.

Also, investigators say the incident happened in front of others who gave statements and the incident was caught on camera.

Glen is charged with assault and battery in the 2nd degree and booked into the Lexington County Detention Center.

The district says Glen was suspended immediately, pending the outcome of an investigation.
