River Bluff High student awarded scholarship, internship from Amazon

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– A River Bluff High School student is a recipient of the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship.

High school student Zdenek Rusek Kotva was awarded an up to $40,000 scholarship to study computer science, engineering or a related field at the college or university of his choosing.

Kotva also received a paid Amazon internship for after their freshman year of college.

Amazon officials say the high schooler is one of two seniors chosen from South Carolina out of 400 students nationwide from underserved communities across the country to receive the scholarship.

Also Amazon officials say Kotva was selected because he wants to become a business leader in the tech world and contribute to the next generation of tech to drive positive change on a global scale.
