Pet of the Week: Agnes!
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- Meet Agnes! Agnes is just a pup at a year old and was brought in to Columbia Animal Services as a stray at the beginning of March when an officer saw her get clipped by a car. Luckily she did not have any real injuries, and has been patiently waiting for her forever home ever since.
Agnes is a timid girl and the shelter environment is not the best for her. Through the shelter’s new play groups and volunteer efforts though, Agnes has slowly been coming out of her shell and learning how to have fun again! She even went on a sleep over with a volunteer, where she really got to show her true personality! Agnes slept great in her crate overnight, did well with other dogs, walks well on a leash (but does pull towards squirrels), and loves toys! She is sweet as can be, and seems to do well with kids too! Agnes needs a loving and patient home that will allow her to slowly warm up to new environments.
If you’re not quite ready to adopt, Agnes is available under the shelter’s Adoption Ambassador program. It’s a 60 day foster with the goal of finding Agnes her forever home, while helping her with the kennel to couch transition.
On National Adopt a Shelter Pet day today (April 30th) all adoption fees at the shelter are waived! Every adoption comes spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and started on flea/heartworm prevention. Visit the shelter today at 127 Humane Lane, Columbia, SC 29209.
