Walmart to close all of its health care clinics

(CNN)– Walmart says it will close all of its health care clinics and end virtual health care services.

The largest retailer in the U.S. made a big push into health care in recent years. It has 51 clinics in 6 states.

They’re next to its superstores and offered primary and urgent care, labs, x-rays, behavioral health, and dental work.

They targeted rural and underserved areas that have a shortage of primary care providers.

Walmart said its health care push was not profitable because of what it called the challenging reimbursement environment and escalating operating costs.
