Governor McMaster declares May as Hurricane Preparedness Month

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Governor Henry McMaster has declared May as Hurricane Preparedness Month.

The 2024 hurricane season begins on June 1st.

Officials with the South Carolina Emergency Management Division urges people to build an emergency kit with items like bottled water and non-perishable food.

Make an evacuation plan and know how to stay informed during an emergency.
