Sheriff: Child’s death ruled an accident
Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)- An update Wednesday on the investigation into the death of a Midlands three year old.
In a news conference, Sheriff Leon Lott announced the death of Armani Shoemaker was ruled an accident.
Last Friday, deputies say she was able to get into a car at her home on Parliament Lake Dr. and was unable to get out as the temperature rose in the car.
According to DHEC, there have been nearly two dozen deaths in hot cars in South Carolina since 1998.
