Woman, 9-month-old baby shot during drive-by, say Lee County deputies
LEE COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A woman and a 9-month-old baby has been shot in a drive-by on Thursday night, say Lee County deputies.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to the scene of a drive-by shooting on Thursday night where a woman was shot multiple times and a 9-month-old baby was shot at least once.
The infant was airlifted to a Columbia area hospital in critical condition. The woman was taken to a Florence area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lee County Sheriff Daniel Simon states that the shooting happened at H&B Mobile Home Park Herbert Lane, off Springhill Road in Lee County.
Deputies say a woman and four children were leaving a home in the mobile park after the shooting and noticed that the mobile home was on fire.
Then she dialed law enforcement to report that she and her infant had been shot.
Lee County Fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene and requested a medical helicopter. Sled Crime Scene and Arson unit was notified to assist with the investigation as it ongoing.
