Consumers haven’t felt this bad about the economy since November

(CNN)– A new survey shows Americans aren’t feeling too hot about the economy. In fact, they haven’t felt this bad about it since November.

According to the latest University of Michigan survey of consumers, consumer sentiment plunged to 67%. That’s a 13% drop from April’s reading.

Economists were expecting a decrease but not by that much.

The survey found consumers are bracing for higher price increases as inflation moves in the wrong direction.

Beyond that Americans are also concerned about rising unemployment rates.
