Kitten rescued from vehicle engine compartment at Food Lion parking lot

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– If cats have 9 lives, Sumter Police and other community members saved one this weekend.

Police say on Saturday morning they responded to the Food lion parking lot in Palmetto Plaza.

That’s where they say a kitten stuck in the engine compartment of a car was.

The Sumter Police Department say a little time and elbow grease freed the kitten who went home with one of the rescuers.
