The Buddy Walk Changing Lives Step By Step
Columbia, S.C (WOLO) — Grab a buddy and get ready to take a walk that is changing lives one step at a time.
It’s time the the 17th annual Buddy Walk held each year by Family Connections and this year promises to be even bigger and better.
Organizer’s say there will be 80 buddies living with down syndrome participating in the free event that is open to the public. Besides plenty of bouncy houses, Food and fun…there will also be a walk and held in support of ending the stigma that sometimes comes with down syndrome.
Organizers say the hope of this event is to bring together member of the community impacted by any type of disability to give them a network of support where they can come together, share thoughts, ideas, and resources.
The event takes place Sunday from 1pm to 5pm at Saluda Shoals Park on the Athletic field.
