Flags at state buildings at half staff in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– In honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day, Governor McMaster says flags will be at half staff until sunset on Wednesday, May 15, at several state buildings.

The day honors federal, state and local officers who were killed or disabled in the line of duty.

The Department of Public Safety says there are 429 fallen officers in the South Carolina Law Enforcement Hall of Fame.
