Police: School bus driver turned of a/c as form of punishment
Congaree, S.C. (WOLO)–A former school bus driver is facing ten counts of cruelty to children.
Investigators with the Congaree Police Department say on May 7Th, Patricia Douglas turned the air conditioner off on a bus leaving Wood Elementary School, as a form of punishment.
Police say temperatures reached into the 90’s that day.
Investigators say the air conditioner was off for a total of 18 minutes.
Officials with Lexington School District Two say Douglas has been removed from her position.
