Lexington Co. Coroner identifies homicide victim

Lexington Co., SC (WOLO) — Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of a man deputies say was shot outside of his house Tuesday.

Authorities say the victim has been identified as 53 year old John Darrick Rumph of Gaston. Fisher says Rumph was pronounced dead before he could be transferred from his Glenn Road home where the shooting occurred to the hospital. Coroner Fisher says he died from a gunshot wound to the upper body.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department along with the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue investigating the deadly shooting.
