New Damage Estimates for parts of Coast after Hurricane Matthew

BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) – New research shows that Hurricane Matthew dealt an almost $20 million hit to the tourism industry on Hilton Head Island.

The research was compiled by John Salazar the director of USC-Beaufort’s Lowcountry and Resort Islands Tourism Institute as well as Clemson research economist Rob Carey.
