Local Living: Black-Tie Affair Fundraiser for Benedict College, Columbia Fire’s open house, Race To Thrive 5k And Fun Run

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the Sumter Benedict College Alumni Club is hosting its 3rd annual Black-Tie Affair Fundraiser next weekend.

It starts Saturday, June 8th from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the American Legion in Sumter. There will be plenty of food and live music from DJ AL and the Xperience Soul Band.

All proceeds will benefit Benedict College. General admission is $75.

 

The Columbia-Richland Fire Department is hosting a free community open house next month.

The event will feature games, music, food and more.

Attendees are encouraged to take a gift donation for a teen living with Sickle Cell Anemia to the event.

It takes place Friday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Columbia Fire Department.

 

Rose Leaf Foundation’s “Race To Thrive 5k And Fun Run” starts this Saturday, June 1.

The 5K run starts at 8 a.m. and the youth fun run starts at 8:45 a.m. at Saluda Shoals Park.

It’s $30 for adults and $15 for kids.
