Letters Threaten Laurens County Schools

LAURENS, S.C. (AP) _ The State Law Enforcement Division has been called in after threatening letters were sent to Laurens County’s two school districts. The letters arrived Thursday and Friday at Presbyterian College and Clinton Police. Investigators won’t detail what was written in the letters, but say they had to do with security at the schools. They said the letters were typed, but the addresses were handwritten. SLED helped Laurens County deputies and other agencies put officers at every school in the county Friday. Authorities reported nothing unusual at Laurens County schools Friday.
