Local Living: Guardians of the Night K9 5K, Pups & Pints adoption event, State museum’s D-Day celebration

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department is hosting their “Guardians of the Night K9 5K”.
The event takes place on June 20, at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds. There will be an untimed 5K and a timed 5K at 9:30 a.m.
You must be registered to participate.
Columbia Animal Services and Jake’s on Devine are hosting a Pups & Pints adoption event and donation drive this Sunday.
It’s from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the bar on Devine Street.
Adoption fees will be waived but make sure to bring a leash and collar if you plan to adopt.
You can donate dog and cat food, cat litter, cleaning supplies and more.
Monetary donations will go towards Animal Mission of the Midlands’s Medical Fund.
The state museum will host a special event this Saturday to celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the event will include performances from the 282nd Army Jazz Band and ColaJazz Foundation.
A new exhibition exploring South Carolina in WWII and more will be on display.
General admission will be free for active duty military and veterans and their families.
