“I almost passed out,” says Midlands lottery winner

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands woman almost passed out when she found out she was a lottery winner, said SC Lottery officials.

The woman was taking her dog to the vet when she stopped to play the lottery and won $200,000.

“I almost passed out,” she said.

The winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials that she was early for the appointment, so she decided to run into the Food Lion on N. Guignard Dr. in Sumter for a ticket.

She scratched the $5 Monopoly card in the store and the six-figure payday left her stunned.

“This is the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time,” she told lottery officials.
