Local Living: South Carolina Caribbean Festival, CRFD’s free community open house, Black-Tie Affair Fundraiser

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the South Carolina Caribbean Festival kicks off tonight!
From now until Sunday, you and the family can enjoy several events throughout the Midlands celebrating the Caribbean culture.
It starts with an international night event tonight, June 6, at 7 p.m. at the Big Apple on Hampton Street.
On Friday, the Paint, Water, Powder Festival kicks off at 9 p.m. at the state fairgrounds.
The Columbia-Richland Fire Department is hosting a free community open house later this month.
The event will feature games, music, food and more.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a gift donation for a teen living with sickle cell anemia.
It takes place on Friday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Columbia Fire Department.
The Sumter Benedict College Alumni Club is hosting its 3rd annual Black-Tie Affair Fundraiser this Saturday.
It is from 6 p.m. to midnight at the American Legion in Sumter.
There will be plenty of food and live music from DJ AL and the Xperience-soul Band
All proceeds will benefit Benedict College. General Admission is $75.
Friday Night Laser Lights return to the state museum this Summer.
The first laser light show is on June 21, and will feature music from The Eagles, Elton John, The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac.
There will be food from local food trucks and a cash bar.
Tickets are $10 for members and $12 for the general public.
