Local Living: State museum’s D-Day special event, Friday Night Laser Lights, Pups & Pints adoption event, Guardians of the Night K9-5k

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the state museum will host a special event tomorrow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the event will include performances from the 282nd Army Jazz Band and ColaJazz Foundation, an exhibition exploring South Carolina in World War 2 and more.
General admission will be free for active duty military and veterans and their families.
Friday Night Laser Lights return to the state museum this Summer.
The first laser light show is on June 21 and will feature music from The Eagles, Elton John, The Beatles, and Fleetwood Mac.
There will be food from local food trucks and a cash bar.
Tickets are $10 for members and $12 for the general public.
Columbia Animal Services and Jake’s on Devine are hosting a Pups & Pints adoption event and donation drive this Sunday.
It’s from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bar on Devine Street.
Adoption fees will be waived but make sure to bring a leash and collar if you plan to adopt.
You can donate dog and cat food, cat litter, cleaning supplies, and more.
Monetary donations will go towards Animal Mission of the Midlands’s Medical Fund.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is hosting their “Guardians of the Night K9, 5k”.
The event takes place on July 20th at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds.
There will be an untimed 5K at 8:30 a.m. and a timed 5K at 9:30 a.m.
Anyone looking to participate must be registered.
