Coroner: Teen killed after Lexington County collision

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died after a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Saturday, said the coroner’s office.

According to Coroner Fisher, 17-year-old Walter Vinicio Diaz Perez, of Gaston died after the Saturday, June 8, collision that happened in the 1900 block of Woodtrail Drive around 9:12 p.m.

The teen was in the roadway when he was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound on Woodtrail Drive.

He was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries he received.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the collision.
