Sumter PD: 2nd person arrested in fatal May shooting

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter Police say a second person is now in custody as the search for a juvenile involved in a May fatal shooting at Green Swamp and South Guignard Drive continues.
Fernando Quintez Adams, 20, of Beckridge Drive in Sumter was taken into custody Monday in Richland County with assistance from the S.C. Law Enforcement Division and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Adams was booked at the detention center in Sumter County and was charged with murder and attempted murder in connection to the shooting death of Tavares Keiwaun McFadden, and the injury of his passenger.
Sumter Police says officers are continuing to look for a juvenile who was identified in the case as someone who is known to associate with Adams.
Investigators say the juvenile’s name is not being released because of his age.
Another person, 19-year-old Curtis Jefferson was placed in custody on Wednesday, May 29 and remains in the local jail on murder and attempted murder charges.
