SCHP: 1 dead, 1 injured after collision on US-178
ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person is dead and another is injured after a collision on US-178, 3 miles west of Orangeburg, says highway patrol.
South Carolina Highway Patrol says the collision happened on Wednesday morning, June 12, around 7:40 a.m. on US-178 at Shillings Bridge Road.
A 2007 Mercedes Benz was traveling east on US-178 when a 2002 Kia Sportage traveling north on Shillings Bridge Road collided together at the intersection, says SCHP.
The driver of the Mercedes Benz was injured during the collision and taken to a local hospital where the driver later died.
The driver of the 2002 Kia Sportage was taken to the hospital as well due to being injured.
