RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C.(WOLO)– Sheriff Leon Lott says the remains of a man reported as missing last year was recently found, says RCSD.
Richland County Sheriff’s Department, says deputies responded to a call on Monday, June 17, around 8:45 a.m. in the 7400 block of Springbank Drive after a person found remains in the woods.
Richland County Coroner, Naida Rutherford and her staff responded to the scene and were able to match dental records and identify them as that of Morgan Duncan, say deputies.
Duncan went missing from his home on Nov. 28, 2023, at the 200 block of Springtree Drive in Columbia.
“At least we are able to give the family the remains so they can have a proper burial. Telling a mom their child has been killed is one of the hardest things I have to do as sheriff, but being able to find their loved ones give them a little bit of peace,” says Sheriff Lott.
Richland County deputies have arrested two individuals in connection with Duncan’s murder. Eric Greene, 41, was arrested on Feb 1, 2024, and charged with murder.
Julivia Waller, 28, was arrested on Feb 6, 2024, and charged with murder, fleeing custody and resisting arrest. The investigation remains ongoing by the sheriff’s department and the coroner’s office.
