Georgetown native, track & field athlete secures ticket to Paris Olympics
(WPDE) — A Georgetown native and former Coastal Carolina University student-athlete will be heading to the Paris Olympics this summer.
Melissa Jefferson took second place in the women’s 100-meter dash at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon Saturday night, June 22.

Jefferson secured second place behind Sha’Carri Richardson with a new personal best time of 10.80 seconds.
