Clemson Hosts Exhibition Game vs. N Greenville Sunday

Clemson Notes: 

·         Clemson is coming off of an 80-48 victory over West Alabama in its first exhibition game of 2016 on Oct. 30.

·         In the contest, four Tigers scored in double figures, led by sophomore Danielle Edwards (18) and junior Ivy Atkism (14).

·         Freshman Jaia Alexander led the team in rebounding, with 10, while junior Nelly Perry picked up six assists and junior Alexis Carter added five steals.

·         The Tigers enter Head Coach Audra Smith’s fourth season with eight returning letterwinners, including four starters, and five newcomers.

·         Perry is the Tigers’ returning leader in points (373) and points per game (14.3), and tied for the lead in blocks (15) and minutes per game (33.0).

·         Sophomore Aliyah Collier is the returning leader in rebounds (179) and rebounds per game (6.0).

·         Edwards is the team’s returning leader in assists (84), steals (69) and minutes played (991), and tied for the lead in blocks (15) and minutes per game (33.0).

·         The four returning starters for the Tigers are Collier, Edwards, Perry and junior Victoria Cardaci. Carter and sophomore Sirah Diarra also return after playing significant minutes a season ago.

 

North Greenville Notes:

·         Sunday’s exhibition will be the first of the year for North Greenville, which finished the 2015-16 season with an 11-18 overall record and a 9-13 mark in Conference Carolinas.

·         The Crusaders were led in scoring last season by Cameron Carter, who averaged 17.4 points per game as a junior in 2015-16.

·         Carter was named to the All-Carolinas Conference First Team a season ago.
