Four Children Killed in Crash on I-95 in Colleton County

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Four children were killed in a crash early Friday morning along I-95 in Colleton County, Colleton Fire reports.

The department says crews responded to the crash around 4:30 a.m. at mile marker 44 southbound, where they found a car trapped under a tractor trailer. Five people were trapped inside.

Both lanes of southbound traffic were closed as crews worked to extricate the victims. Colleton Fire says it found four deceased children in the car. One adult was flown to Trident Trauma Center, while two others were transported to Colleton Medical.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
