NEW YORK (AP) _ President-elect Donald Trump hadn’t been seen in public for days when he walked into New York’s 21 Club to applause from fellow diners. The unannounced evening out with family came amid suggestions of a less-than-smooth transition. Trump offered reassurances in a tweet, calling the process “very organized.” Before dinner, Trump met with the head of his transition team, Vice President-elect Mike Pence.

Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump is denying reports that his team has been trying to get security clearances for his adult children. In a post on his verified Twitter account, the billionaire businessman wrote, “This was a typically false news story.”
