School Districts Respond to Air Quality Alert

Many Opt to Limit or Cancel Outdoor Activities

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The Department of Health and Environmental Control says an air quality alert for fine particulates in the air has been declared for most of South Carolina, effective now through Thursday. The particles in the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards. Many school districts across the Midlands decided to take precautionary steps to maintain the health of their students. Several opted to move outdoor activities inside.
