Marijuana found on man in court on pot charge
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say they found a bag of marijuana on a man as they searched him in court not long after he pleaded guilty to simple possession of marijuana.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg (http://bit.ly/XsxHqp ) reports 24-year-old old Jovon Graham was in Orangeburg City Court on Tuesday, pleading guilty to simple possession of marijuana.
A judge ordered him to pay half of his $813 fine or start a possible 70-day jail sentence. As officers searched him, they found a bag of marijuana and Graham went to jail on another simple possession charge.
Graham had a bond hearing Wednesday. When the judge asked if he had been arrested before, he said “same charge.” Graham remains behind bars. It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.
